The National ICT Strategy 2023-2027 of the Republic of North Macedonia is based on 4 main pillars, which include digital connectivity and ICT infrastructure, developing digital skills among citizens, developing a digital government, as well as enhanced support for the digitalization of businesses, ICT enablers and encouraging digital innovations. In this regard, this strategy should provide a strategic framework for the process of accelerated digital transformation of the Republic of North Macedonia through the digitalization of public services for citizens and businesses, including advanced digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data and cloud services. The development of the ICT sector and the digitalization of society aims to digitally transform the country in the period 2023-2027 in order to reach the average of EU countries in terms of the development of a digital society and economy, guided by the strategic determinations of the European Union's Digital Compass in this digital decade.
In this regard, the National ICT Strategy is the key document that will guide all government actions regarding the digitalization of the country and against which progress and achievements in this field will be measured.
To enter this period of rapid and dynamic digital transformation, the Republic of North Macedonia needs to use advanced ICTs by establishing a unified digital vision, promoting cross-sectoral cooperation, improving the digital knowledge of the population, and fostering a favorable environment and innovation for the business sector.
