The open data portal data.gov.mk is an official platform of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, which provides free and open access to data generated by public institutions. This portal is a key instrument for promoting transparency, accountability and citizen participation in the creation of public policies.
What is open data?
Open data is data that is available in machine-readable formats and can be used, reused and distributed by anyone, without restrictions. It is the basis for the development of new applications, research, analysis and services that can contribute to improving the quality of life of citizens.

- Extensive database: The portal contains over 280 datasets from more than 50 public institutions, including ministries, agencies and other state bodies.
- Machine-readable formats: Data is available in formats such as CSV and JSON, which allows easy integration into various applications and systems.
- API access: An application programming interface (API) has been developed that enables automated data retrieval and updating.
- Data catalogs: Institutions create data catalogs that describe the available sets, their structure and update frequency.
