The Government Cyber Incident Response Centre MKD-GOV-CSIRT has become a full member of FIRST

The Government Cyber Incident Response Centre MKD-GOV-CSIRT has been admitted as a full member of FIRST – Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams, a global international network of teams for responding to computer security incidents.

The admission of MKD-GOV-CSIRT as a new full member has been officially accepted by the Board of Directors of FIRST, confirming the progress of North Macedonia in the field of cybersecurity and its commitment to building a stronger, professional and European cyber resilience system.

This success is the result of domestic human and infrastructure capacities of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Cyber Security Sector, with expert and technical support from partners from the United States of America and the European Union.

Membership in FIRST enables greater international trust, faster exchange of information, access to expertise and better coordination in preventing, detecting and dealing with cyber threats and incidents.

With this, North Macedonia has taken yet another significant step in the Reform Agenda, with a deadline of 30 June 2026, and is creating conditions for unlocking new funds from the Growth Plan.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation continues to invest in the capacities of cyber incident response services, in the protection of government institutions and in the delivery of secure digital services for citizens and companies.
