Andonovski: Digital reforms are a driver of better services and less bureaucracy for citizens

The Minister of Digital Transformation, Stefan Andonovski, today expressed gratitude and pride that the Republic of Macedonia hosted the Western Balkans Digital Summit, a significant event that positions the country and the city of Skopje as a key regional centre for digital innovation.

“By holding this Summit, which was officially opened by the Prime Minister, Hristijan Mickoski, we are sending a clear message that Macedonia is ready to lead the digital transformation in the region. Every digital reform we implement is aimed at citizens – towards faster, more efficient services, towards reducing bureaucracy and creating new opportunities,” said Andonovski.

He pointed out that digitalization is not just a technological change, but a fundamental transformation that has a direct impact on the quality of life – for citizens seeking better access to public services, for families in need of a better quality healthcare and education system, for companies seeking easier business operations, and for young people who see their future here, in the region.

As part of his address, the Minister also presented the initiative to expand the “roaming like home” model to the European Union – a step that, as he said, will mean a real reduction in communication costs and better digital connectivity of citizens with Europe.

“A huge appreciation to everyone who contributed to organizing this event at the highest level. The team of the Ministry of Digital Transformation has put in exceptional effort to adequately represent the country and our vision for a digital future,” noted Andonovski in his official address.
