Andonovski: We are working on projects that ease the lives of citizens

The Minister for Digital Transformation, Stefan Andonovski, during his appearance on the program "Click Plus" on TV21, emphasised that the Ministry is intensively working on several projects aimed at directly easing the lives of citizens and improving access to public services.

Andonovski announced that the E-Baby project will start next year and will represent a significant step towards more efficient communication between institutions and citizens.

The project will enable citizens to no longer have to personally obtain documents from state institutions, but rather for these to be exchanged electronically through state registers.

"The goal is to reach a stage where citizens will not have to personally collect these documents, but the institution will obtain them from state registers itself. The project, which we called E-Baby, will start next year and will facilitate communication between citizens and institutions," said Andonovski.

The Minister pointed out that court certificates – for non-conviction, criminal and business capacity – have already been digitised and are available through the national portal in just a few minutes. He emphasised that some institutions, such as faculties and the Employment Agency, already recognise digital documents, but there remains a need for all institutions to follow the same principle. The Ministry will take steps to fully overcome this issue

Regarding international digital connectivity, Andonovski highlighted that Macedonia is actively working on joining the roaming zone of the European Union, so that citizens can use mobile services abroad under the same conditions as at home.

He added that if Macedonia fails to achieve this as part of the package next year, bilateral talks will be initiated with the countries where citizens most frequently travel, similar to what Ukraine and Moldova have done.

"It is much easier for the European Union to do this on behalf of the state, as there is interest from the European Commission, which President von der Leyen has already emphasised several times," stressed the minister.

"Our goal is simple – to make as many services as possible accessible to citizens quickly, easily, and without unnecessary costs. We are working on projects that truly ease daily life," stated Andonovski.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation remains committed to the digitisation of public services and accelerating the process of the state's digital transformation.
