Cybersecurity is no longer merely an IT issue; it is a matter of economic security, trust, and national resilience, the Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation stated at the event "From Cyber Risk to Business Resilience", held as part of the second OSAC Macedonia Event.
In his address, the Deputy Minister noted that digitalization and the development of artificial intelligence bring significant opportunities but also new, more sophisticated risks; therefore, digital transformation and cybersecurity must evolve in parallel.
"In the Ministry of Digital Transformation, cybersecurity is one of the key pillars of the national digital agenda. We are working to strengthen institutional capacities, improve coordination and the timely management of cyber incidents, as well as developing a stronger cyber culture," emphasised the Deputy Minister.
He stressed that technology alone is insufficient; rather, preparedness, the human factor, and collaboration are solution for building resilient institutions and companies and for ensuring trust in digital services.
At the event, the Deputy Minister expressed his gratitude to the U.S. Embassy, the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), and Makedonski Telekom for their cooperation and support, as well as to all the participants and experts who contributed to the discussion.
