Andonovski: Digitalization is a fundamental tool for fighting corruption

The Minister of Digital Transformation, Stefan Andonovski, was a guest on Topic of the Day in the News of Sitel TV. Andonovski spoke about the project for 55,000 vouchers of 15,300 denars for students, for which 37,970 students have applied so far, and over 17,000 students have already received an electronic device.

The Minister noted that this project, in addition to helping those who need it most to receive an electronic device, also the entire process is transparent and simple. With this, Andonovski believes that corruption is completely eliminated.

“This service demonstrates the fight against corruption. This system does not recognise whose child comes from where, what kind of parents a student has, the system does not understand whether you are the son or daughter of an official in order to receive a voucher, but rather that system awards vouchers to everyone who meets the standards,” emphasized Andonovski.

Additionally, the Minister emphasized that birth certificates and citizenship certificates are issued online, which directly affects the suppression of petty corruption.

“You no longer pay 400-500 denars to an official in an office to issue your document faster. You click, wait 20 seconds and you receive the document by email,” concluded Minister Andonovski.
