Vardziski from Belgrade: Macedonia is recognized as a country that has made major steps in the field of digitalization

As part of the 20th anniversary exhibition and conference "Smart eGovernment" held in Belgrade, Serbia, organized by ASIT, Deputy Minister Vardziski participated in one of the panels "Technological evolution of public administration, new directions, solutions and practices in the region", together with representatives from several countries, where he presented the policies, projects and initiatives implemented by the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

"I am pleased with the fact that Macedonia was recognized as a country that has made substantial and very significant steps in the field of digitalization in less than 2 years" ,emphasized Vardziski at the event.

In his presentation, he shared our activities in the area of ​​better and more accessible e-services for citizens, development of a mobile application and a digital wallet, improvement of the interoperability of institutions, development of digital infrastructure, aligning of legislation with the EU, cybersecurity, support for companies through the European Innovation Digital Hub, support for students with vouchers for electronic devices, as well as the artificial intelligence project of national importance VEZILKA: National AI Factory Antenna of Macedonia.

In his presentation, he addressed the importance of human capital in the process of digital transformation, as well as the importance of developing sustainable digitalization that will improve the quality of life of every citizen, regardless of their level of digital literacy.

The event showcased various technological products and achievements from regional and global companies. Attendees had the opportunity to exchange experiences and good practices, with a special focus on digital governance, electronic identity (eID) and cybersecurity of state bodies and public administration.
