The exchange of experiences and good practices, as well as opening up new opportunities for collaboration with the Czech Republic in digital transformation and cybersecurity, were the focus of the seminar "Digitalization of Public Administration - Exchange of Experiences and Good Practices with the Czech Republic", which was held today and organized by the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
Minister of Digital Transformation Stefan Andonovski welcomed H.E. Mr. Petr Macinka, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, after which both ministers officially opened the seminar with welcoming speeches.
Extending a warm welcome to Minister Macinka and the Czech delegation, Minister Andonovski emphasised that digitalisation is not merely a technological process, but a fundamental transformation of the way the state operates and how citizens exercise their rights and utilise public services.
“What we want to achieve is for the state to be simpler and closer to citizens and companies, with services that are accessible, fast and easy to use. For us, digitalization makes sense only if it brings real improvements in everyday life – fewer administrative steps, less waiting and greater security and predictability for every citizen and every company,” emphasized Andonovski.
He pointed out that the Ministry is working on the development of digital services, better connecting institutions, promoting interoperability and creating a more secure digital infrastructure.
Minister Andonovski emphasized the importance of international cooperation and the exchange of practical experiences, assessing that the knowledge and concrete solutions of the Czech Republic can significantly contribute to the further development of digital transformation in the country.
“I see today’s seminar as much more than a presentation of two different experiences. I view it as an opportunity to start a new, more concrete and deeper cooperation between Macedonia and the Czech Republic in the field of digital transformation,” emphasized Andonovski.
Special emphasis was also placed on cybersecurity as a necessary part of the digitalization process.
"The more services and processes are digitized, the more important it is for citizens to have confidence that their data is secure and that the state's systems are resilient. Therefore, digitalization and cybersecurity must go hand in hand," the minister said.
Representatives of the Czech delegation presented the experiences and successful practices of the Czech Republic in the digitalization of public administration. The discussion considered the possibilities for further cooperation, establishing partnerships and implementing joint initiatives and projects, including in the field of cybersecurity.
Minister Andonovski expressed confidence that the seminar will be the beginning of new initiatives, partnerships and specific projects between the two countries in the field of digital transformation.
