The Ministry of Digital Transformation and Oracle signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for the Development of Digital Skills, Training and Retraining of Citizens
Oracle represents a world leader in digital solutions, thereby establishing a strategic partnership aimed at developing digital skills, strengthening human capital and accelerating digital transformation in the country.
The memorandum was signed with the Vice President of Oracle, Pierre-Alain Baetz, and the cooperation opens new opportunities for connecting education, institutions and citizens with modern technological knowledge, practical tools and learning programs in areas such as cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and data management.
The Minister of Digital Transformation, Stefan Andonovski, emphasized that this partnership represents a concrete step in one of the most important policies of the Ministry – developing digital skills and investing in people as change bearers.
"Digital transformation does not start with technology, but with people. In an era when the digital economy is developing at an unprecedented speed, the greatest capital of a country is not technology, but the people who know how to utilise it," said Minister Andonovski.
He emphasized that the partnership with Oracle represents a strategic tool for overcoming the gap in digital skills and a direct investment in the knowledge, opportunities and competitiveness of Macedonian citizens.
The cooperation is based on two complementary pillars. The first is Oracle Academy, through which higher education institutions will connect with modern technologies and practical content, enabling students to acquire knowledge that aligns with the needs of industry and the real labour market.
The second pillar is the Oracle University Skills Development Initiative, aimed at the wider public. Through this initiative, a structured system for training, reskilling and retraining of citizens is being established for the first time, including through the National Portal for e-services, which the Ministry runs as one of its key activities.
Through this partnership, citizens will have access to more than 200 hours of free digital content, suited to all levels of knowledge, which will enable the acquisition of new skills, upgrading existing knowledge and opening new opportunities for employment, professional development and retraining.
As part of the cooperation, a clear goal has been set – 10,000 trained citizens in the next three years, with the ambition that a significant part of them will also acquire internationally recognized certificates. This will mean greater employability, higher competitiveness on the labour market and stronger support for the development of the domestic economy.
This project is in accordance with the strategic priorities of the Ministry and with the vision SMART/MK 2030, which is listed among the applicable strategies of the Ministry, focusing on a knowledge-based society, digital services and development of human capital.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation expects active involvement from universities, institutions and the private sector, in order for this opportunity to be maximally utilised and to yield measurable results in the short term.
By signing the Memorandum with Oracle, the Ministry is taking yet another concrete step towards creating a modern, digitally prepared, and competitive society, in which technology will be put to the service of citizens and their development.
