On October 29 and 30, 2025, the conference the annual CyberChess conference took place in Riga, Latvia, one of the leading events for cyber security in the Baltic region. The conference was attended by the State Secretary, Gordana Klinčarová, and Tanja Milanovska, from the Cabinet of the Minister at the Ministry of Digital Transformation, with the aim of exchanging knowledge, experiences and establishing new partnerships in the field of cybersecurity.
For over a decade, CyberChess has been a key platform that unites experts from the public and private sectors – cybersecurity professionals, policymakers, internet and telecommunications service providers, industry leaders and researchers. The event is dedicated to sharing the latest trends, challenges and innovations in the field of digital and information security.
This year, the conference brought together more than 50 speakers from almost 20 countries, who shared their research and practical experiences in the following areas:
• Operational Technology (OT) Security
• Financial Security and Fraud Prevention
• Vulnerability Detection and Timely Remediation
• Artificial Intelligence in Cybersecurity: Risks and Dependencies
• Training of Cybersecurity Professionals as an Important Priority for Every Country
The participation of the Ministry of Digital Transformation represented a significant opportunity to gain experience, as well as establish contacts for future cooperation in the formation of the CERT within the MDT.
During their stay in Riga, the Ministry's representatives also visited the BEREC (Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications) office. At the meeting with Dr. Venira Weber, Director of the BEREC Office, and Dr. Panos Karaminas, as well as with three Macedonian professionals currently working in this institution, information and ideas for further cooperation in the field of electronic communications and regulatory harmonization were exchanged.
