Andonovski: The adoption of the legislative package from the reform agenda is a significant step for digital transformation.

After the adoption of the package of laws on digital transformation from the reform agenda in the Parliament, Andonovski emphasized that it is a serious undertaking and that after a thorough discussion, quality legal solutions have been established at the European level and harmonized with the EU legislation on digital transformation.

“Although it may seem easy to draft a law, when you are introducing legislation on cybersecurity for the first time, and this is done by a ministry that has just been formed and needs to adopt countless internal documents, it is a truly serious undertaking to draft such a package of reform laws. Especially considering that there has been extensive debate and discussion with chambers of commerce, the non-governmental sector, and even with the opposition. I truly congratulate the team from the Ministry of Digital Transformation and our international partners who were with us in preparing these package solutions.” stated the Minister of Digital Transformation, Stefan Andonovski, in an interview то TV Sitel's Daily News

He also added that the four laws are fully aligned with the European Union and lay the foundations on which we will move in the future.

“These are laws that are at the level of what the European Union presents. We are not following a path, rather, we are collaboratively creating policies with the EU in the realm of digital transformation. These legislative solutions lay the foundations on which we will move in the future”, stated the minister and added, “four laws have been adopted - a new Law on Electronic Communications, fully aligned with the opinion of the Constitutional Court, a new Law on Cyber Security, amendments and supplements to the Law on Electronic Documents, amendments and supplements to the Law on Archival Activity, which allows electronic documents in institutions - indicating an electronic archive and sharing of documents between institutions.” concluded Minister Andonovski.

Andonovski announced that the Macedonian super application for a digital ID card and driver's license will be presented at the Western Balkans Summit for Digitalization to be held on October 1 and 2 in Skopje. From that day on, the electronic form of these documents will be a test version and every citizen will be able to download it.
