During the Business Forum between Macedonia and Italy, the Minister of Digital Transformation, Stefan Andonovski, presented the national commitments in the areas of technological innovation, digital transformation and cybersecurity.
The forum highlighted Macedonia's commitment to fulfilling the reform agenda of the European Union, with the new reform laws, especially the Law on Cybersecurity, representing strong evidence of the state's efforts to protect citizens in the digital space and promote technological resilience.
On the sidelines of the forum, an important bilateral meeting was held with Maria Tripodi, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy. The meeting discussed key issues of political and economic importance for the two countries, emphasizing the strategic partnership between Macedonia and Italy and the deepening of cooperation in digitalization, trade exchange and political support.
In this regard, it was proposed to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation with the relevant Italian ministry, with the aim of promoting institutional cooperation and exchange of experiences in the field of innovation, digital tools and cybersecurity.
“The partnership with Italy shows that even a small country like Macedonia can have a significant role on the world stage. This is an opportunity for new investments, as well as support for Macedonian companies to conquer the European market,” stressed Andonovski during the forum.
Deputy Minister Tripodi expressed support and recognition for Macedonia’s commitment to the digital transformation process, highlighting the importance of deepening bilateral cooperation.
