The Ministry of Digital Transformation, with the support of the European Union, has launched the Public Administration Digital Skills Academy.
As part of the nine-month program, over 160 administrative officials will enhance their digital knowledge and skills in the fields of programming, networking and security, software development, testing, usability, and contemporary digital processes.
At the Academy’s official launch today, Minister of Digital Transformation Stefan Andonovski addressed the attendees, emphasizing that the goal is not merely to train civil servants, but to cultivate a workforce capable of leading digital transformation within their respective institutions.
"These officials should become ambassadors for national ICT projects within their institutions—ranging from uslugi.gov.mk and interoperability to the eDMS, the Central Register of Population, and the systems and key registers that build the digital state. They need to be the individuals who understand the systems, utilise them more effectively, assist in their enhancement, and convey the digital culture within the institutions," emphasized Andonovski.
The Minister pointed out that new digital solutions can only achieve their full impact if the administration possesses the necessary knowledge and capacity for their proper implementation and further development.
"Digital transformation does not happen through new systems alone. It happens through people who know how to use, develop, and improve those systems. We continue to invest in knowledge, capacity, and a modern public administration," stated Andonovski.
The Academy will contribute to building stronger digital capacities within institutions, improving the use of national information systems, and creating a more efficient, modern, and functional public administration.
