Minister of Digital Transformation, Stefan Andonovski, commenced his visit to the United States with a working meeting with MITRE Corporation, one of the most influential and trusted institutions that has been working directly for the US Government in the field of cybersecurity for decades and manages several FFRDC centers (Federally Funded Research and Development Centers).
The meeting discussed topics of key importance for the modern state and the development of a secure digital infrastructure, including: artificial intelligence and new technologies with a focus on confidentiality and validation, cybersecurity and national cyber-resilience for the protection of critical infrastructure and state platforms, digital governance and data management for institutional digital maturity and interoperability, as well as areas with high security standards – aviation, security and the healthcare system.
The meeting included discussions with Beth Meinert (Senior Vice President and General Manager), as well as Yosry Barsoum and Shamik Das from MITRE Corporation. The discussion was directed towards how trust is built in the digital state, how to set clear rules for accountability and security, and how institutions can make better decisions based on data, standards, and measurable results. Minister Andonovski also had the opportunity to visit the MITRE Innovation Research Centre.
As part of the visit, Minister Andonovski, together with the government delegation, consisting of Igor Janushev, General Secretary of the Government, and Zlatko Perinski, Minister of Local Self-Government, also met with representatives of Microsoft, during which they spoke with Cosette Garrett, General Manager for Cyber ​​Security Services at Microsoft, about current challenges and opportunities for improving cybersecurity, strengthening the resilience of public systems, and supporting digital transformation.
The delegation in the USA will also attend the Prayer Breakfast, as part of the official agenda of the visit.
